The lectures and practice classes can be replaced with the following literature: Hobson John M., The Eastern Origins of Western Civilisation (2004); McNeill J.R. & McNeill W.H., The Human Web: A Bird's-Eye View of World History (2003) (also the Finnish translation Verkottunut ihmiskunta (2005)) and Black Jeremy, Europe and the World (2001).
