Learning outcomes

To recognise and conceptualise cultural differences and similarities. To learn to think of language and texts as representatives of culture.

Contents

The concept of culture and texts as representatives of culture. Germany, Switzerland and Austria as cultural areas and their comparison with Finland.

Modes of study

Lectures and exercises, oral and written presentation of a group exercise. Alternatively a literature essay.
