Learning outcomes

Learning to build protein models based on known structures of holologous proteins. The course aims at practical skills in the use of modelling software.

Contents

The emphasis is on hands-on experience in building homology-based models with the software package Insight II or Discovery Studio. Selecting template structures, preparing modelling alignments, and building, refining and evaluating models.

Independent work, approximately 140 h. Teachers will give students the exercises, and students will need to submit the molecular coordinates of the final models and a written report on each modelling process.
