The course - gives an overview of the Finnish education system and the structure and basic objectives of the curriculum - gives an idea of everyday classroom work and instruction methods in Finnish school - brings together the theory and practice of education in the work of a teacher - contributes to a better understanding of the teacher-pupil/student interaction - helps to understand the approach of seeing pupils as unique individuals and part of the school community

The intensive course includes three components: 1) the orientation lecture on the Finnish school system in general 2) practical observation sessions of school classes 3) scientific report on the basis of learning diaries and literature. The report should also include a personal contribution and cross-cultural comparison between the schools in Finland and in one's own country.
