Learning outcomes

To introduce students to the literature of the period and the concepts "Romanticism" and "Victorian", and to develop academic ways of reading.

Contents

An overview of the development of British literature in its historical, cultural and social contexts through the reading of a selection of representative texts.
Classes include lectures and follow-up tutorials, with small-group work based on the study materials.
