General description

A compulsory basic studies course for major subject students.

Contents

An introduction to the elements of probability calculus and the most important probability distributions. The emphasis is, however, on learning the basic concepts of statistical inference. The students are familiarised with sample distributions and their use in statistical inference. The course introduces estimation and some significance tests.
