The course is intended to students with Specialization in Adult and Vocational Education. Foreign students can accomplish the course through essay according to agreement with teacher.
Learning outcomes
After the course the student will - understand the meaning of organizations, movements and associations, which promote citizenship and participation, for societal development and future of humankind and environment - is familiar with theories and practices related to citizenship and participation - is able to act as an expert and developer in fields of liberal adult education, civil society organizations and in other organizations and positions promoting citizenship and participation.
Contents
The student will learn about different forms and principles of civic action in Finland and trans-nationally. The student will deepen her/his understanding of their educational aims and practices and familiarize with relevant research in the field.
