Learning outcomes
To obtain a general picture of professional translating, interpreting and other translatory activities. To gain knowledge of study planning, studying and professional development; to understand how individual study modules affect the entire degree. To gain facilities to convincingly participate in discussions concerning professional goals and practices of one's own field in university communities and elsewhere.
Contents
Concepts and history of translatory professions; professional status; ethics and responsibilities; employers, division of labour and co-operation, assignments and equipment; principles of fixing prices for translatory services or products; national and international organisations; changing job descriptions.

Written (oral by agreement) examination or a learning journal based on the lecture. Students may alternatively take a book exam. See "Study Materials" to see the material questioned in the examination.
