The aim of the course is to familiarize the students with the Kauppi campus environment. It provides the students with a comprehension of different learning methods and practical issues related to the studies. The students will also learn how to successfully plan their studies and to prepare a written personal study plan.

• Introduction to the functions and university facilities at the Kauppi Campus • Introduction to the School of Health Sciences • Introduction to the students, tutors and staff participating in teaching • Overview of course options • Student’s rights and responsibilities. Information on plagiarism, roles and responsibilities of a student and a teacher and other issues that are related to the studying process • Introduction to the learning methods used in the curriculum (thesis, essay, learning diary, seminar, exam) • Introduction to the Bologna process – a reform process aimed at creating the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) • Use of library and information seeking • Personal study plan
