The student will become familiar with the key concepts regarding media and democracy. She will learn to understand the role of media and journalism in the democratic process as well as the participatory role of the citizens in this context.
Contents
The course focuses on the functions that the media have in the democratic society. The course will discuss the relationship between citizens and journalism; civic participation on the internet, ethnic minorities and the media, and media literacy.
