General description

A book exam or an essay advancing the intermediate studies in Sociology.

Learning outcomes

To introduce students to the classics of sociology and social anthropology, mainly through original texts.

Students become familiar with sociological and social anthropological research works that are considered to be classic.

Modes of study

The course is completed through a book exam or in part or completely through an essay. If a student wishes to complete the course in part through an essay, the essay should be returned before signing up for the exam. The essay can examine listed books or others to be agreed upon separately, for example theoretically notable pieces of sociology and social anthropology that concern the student's thesis topic.
