Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students will
- be able to talk about simple things of their professional lives
- be able to make plans for the future and place events and activities in the past, the present and the future
- be able to make comparisons and assumptions
- be able to talk about the media and the different things discussed in the media
- be able to talk about the weather and describe different climates and landscapes
- be able to talk about health
- be able to give instructions to approve or forbid different actions
- be able to describe and characterise actions, people, places and things
- be able to express feelings
- be able to talk about travelling and make travel plans
- be able to tell simple things about French politics

Contents

A variety of reading, writing, listening and oral activities along with basic grammar lessons. Exercises in pairs or in groups. In addition to the work done in the classroom, the course requires independent work for example at the Self-Access Centre of the Language Centre, where students can improve their language skills.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Evaluation is based on a final written exam at the end of the course. In addition, reading, writing and oral skills will be assessed by active participation, feedback from the teacher and other students, and by self-assessment.
