General description

An optional course included in intermediate studies

Learning outcomes

The student gains an overview of information resources available, their production and market and how information intermediaries bring them to the use of interest groups.

Contents

The societal importance of the production of information resources, production organisations and mechanisms, markets, merchandising information products, and intermediaries of information products. The concept of collection. The selection and management of data. The methods of evaluating collections and services.
