To enhance students’ understanding of the main methodological approaches and options available to European and Russian studies in the social sciences and the humanities.
Contents
This combined lecture and workshop course will present an introduction to the main methodological approaches in the social sciences and the humanities prevailing across different disciplines, including international relations, communication studies and journalism, and linguistic and cultural studies. After the introductory lectures students will familiarise themselves in group, pair or individual work with one of the main methodological approaches and prepare a presentation for the joint section workshop. For the discipline specific section (5 ECTS) students of Russian Language and Culture will be required to take a literature exam.
