Level A English in upper secondary school, or equivalent skills (B1-B2 level of language competence).

Learning outcomes

After completing this study module, students will
- be able to express themselves clearly and in a manner appropriate to the situation
- be able to discuss and negotiate different matters while taking other participants into account
- be able to hold a prepared presentation on a topic related to their own field
- understand others' presentations and be able to ask questions and give feedback

Contents

During this course, students will
- tell about themselves and their studies
- discuss issues related to their own field of study
- use expressions required by different situations (e.g. negotiations, debates, interviews)
- become familiar with the general characteristics and the cultural norms of a good presentation
- become familiar with the cultural practices of spoken English
