Learning outcomes
The course familiarises students with statistical infrence based on observational data by introducing the basic characteristics of estimation methods and tests for statistical hypotheses.

Sampling distribution theory: Independent random variables, Distributions of sums of independent random variables, Random functions associated with normal distributions, The central limit theorem, Various modes of stochastic convergence, point and interval estimation, general properties of estimators, basics of maximum likelihood estimation, Tests of statistical hypotheses
