Specialization in User Experience Design and Evaluation (2013-2015)

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the specialization in User Experience Design and Evaluation the student
- knows the User Experience research and development methods,
- can apply this knowledge in research and development of new interactive technologies.

Prerequisites

If the students have not taken these or equivalent studies in the previous degree, the studies must be taken as complementing studies. The requirements are defined for each student on the Personal Study Plan.

• TIEVA36 Principles of Usability, User Experience, and User Interfaces 5 cr or TIE-41106 User Interface Design 5 cr in TUT
• TIEVS81 Usability Evaluation Methods (III-IV) (from TIEVA30 Methods of Usability Engineering)
• TIEP1 High level programming, 10 cr
• TIEA4 Project work or SISYA200 Innovation project, 5-10 cr
• TIE-02300 Introduction to Software Engineering

Further information

Most of the courses of this specialization will be organized by TUT/IHTE in Tampere University of Technology.

NOTE students from UTA do not take courses TIEVS72 Master's Thesis Seminar and TIEVS73 Master's Thesis Seminar Presentation in TUT. The programme studies must be discussed with the study advisor in the School of Information Scieces. The Master's Thesis supervisor in this specialization will be from UTA.

Advanced studies totalling 80 ects. If core module studies are less that 20 ects, the difference can be compensated with the specialization-specific advanced studies.

Course TIEVS80 can be compensated by old course TIEVS57 Human Information-Processing and Interactive Technology
3.Specialization-specific Advanced Studies,User Experience Design and Evaluation(2013-15) 20 ECTS
20 cr of the following. Suitable courses must be discussed with study advisor.
