The aim of this course is to give students an introduction to the contemporary sphere of corporate social reporting (CSR), e.g. environmental, social, sustainability and corporate social responsibility reporting. The focus is on discussing issues such as: which companies are reporting, what is being reported and how is this done, and, most importantly, why do companies engage in these activities.
Two introductory lectures will be given, after which students will be assigned an essay (a project work). These assignments will be discussed at the third meeting in December. In addition, students are required to complete an intermediate task prior to the second introductory lecture. Further details regarding the assignments will be available at the first lecture. Completion of the course requires analytical reading of the supplementary material, acquainting on some companies' social reports, completing the intermediate task, and completing the essay (project work) on a given topic. Supplementary reading list will be available.
No enrollment required before hand - registration for the course on-site at the first lecture.
