At the end of the course students will be able to critically discuss about the learning difficulties, how they have been currently identified and managed within the school context. Also, it is expected that students will be able to elaborate pedagogical practices to support the development of children.

The course will address the topic of learning difficulties in Elementary and Secondary Education (from 1st to 9th grade). Students that take part in this course will have a general view of what is described and identified as learning disorders, its distinctions from other emotional elements that can influence in learning process, and collectively we will discuss about the implications of these situation for the schooling, and the role of teachers within that process. The discussion will be grounded in the contributions of the cultural-historical theory and critical educational psychology, aiming to broaden the ways students elaborate pedagogical practices and prompt children's development.
