After the Kick-start studies the student is familiar with the structure of most important biomolecules and knows the basic metabolic routes. She/he has elementary knowledge of molecular genetics and how the genetic information is utilized (transcription and translation). In addition, the student knows the basic molecular biology methods. In the area of cell biology and tissue technology the student understands how cellular structures and cellular functions are interrelated with each other, and the student is familiar with the basic cell culture techniques. In the area of bioinformatics the student knows how to search data from databases and analyze the high throughput sequencing data.
