-understands that the prevailing educational thinking and the current conceptions of education are related to the philosophical traditions
-understands that the prevailing conceptions of education, educational practices and educational institutions have their roots in history
-knows the main traditions and their philosophical and historical foundations in the Western educational thinking
Five courses in basic studies in education can be taken as book exams. In the beginning of autumn period and spring period the School of Education is organizing introductory meeting for international students. As a teacher in these courses will be our university teacher Pauliina Alenius. In introductory meeting students can get support and instructions for reading the material.

Enrolment for these modules is not required. Please reserve the time for the exam at Electronic Exam Service.
Accomplishment of Basics Studies 1-5 will be explained in detail in the introductory meeting 16-JAN-2017 (participation without enrollment).
