Students understand key issues in the philosophy of social science and the role of theory in research and their own positioning as researchers.
General description
In this course, students learn about key debates in the philosophy of social science to recognize how different paradigms conceptualize knowledge, validity and the researchers’ position. Students also consider the role of some major contemporary theoretical perspectives in educational research.
