The Technical Communications Programme is a one-year Master's level programme, which familiarizes students with the academic and professional characteristics and trends in technical communication. In addition, students can write their MA thesis on technical communication during the second year. Course contents include document design in Finnish and English, different media and target groups, usability, modular documentation, terminology work, and authoring tools. The programme is carried out in close cooperation with companies: forms of cooperation include lecturing, traineeships, visits to companies and MA theses written to serve the needs of companies.

The programme is intended for students of the University of Tampere who are majoring in English Translation Studies or English Philology. Admission to the programme takes place by a separate application, which is organized every other spring. Most of the courses in the programme are held in Finnish.
