This course will give an introduction to three areas of multilingual communications which are not traditional translation, but are often performed by translators: Machine Translation post-editing, marketing localization and transcreation, and multilingual Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In addition to these, students will do independent research on a fourth area.

At the end of the course, students will know what kind of work these areas involve, what is being discussed about them currently, and might even have a goal of getting further training in one or more of them.

Course work includes lectures (in general every other week, one longer session possible), individual reading, writing of essays, and a final exam.
