Second subject student entrance test
Students wishing to take English Philology as a second subject are admitted on the basis of a language skills test. This test will be held on Friday, August 27, 12-15 (Pinni B1100). A maximum 25 students will be accepted.
Exchange students must also demonstrate adequate proficiency in a language skills test before being accepted into courses. Normally two opportunities to do the test are arranged, one in the last week of August, the other in the first week of September. Please see the Information for exchange students on the Department's homepages for further details.
Enrolment in courses
Enrolment is via the electronic NettiOpsu system unless otherwise indicated. The enrolment periods for courses beginning in the autumn term are as follows:
Supplementary and Basic Studies: 31.8. (6 am) - 3.9. (midnight)
Intermediate and Advanced Studies: 26.8 (6 am) - 30.8 (midnight)
Option courses. For ENGFS4 options courses, application to join groups is by a separate electronic form. Please note that applications to all options offered during the academic year 2010-11 are processed at the end of August 2010. The application period is August 23-28. Teaching in 2010-2011
English Department teaching will begin in the autumn term on September 1st (see note below), and in the spring term on January 10th. There wil be no teaching in the last week of period 1 (18.10-22.10) and the last week of period 3 (28.2-4.3).
Note: There will be one Basic Studies lecture (course P3a) on Thursday, September 2nd , but otherwise Basic Studies courses wil begin on Monday, September 6th.
