Master´s Degree Programme in Bioinformatics

Learning outcomes

The students will have theoretical and practical knowledge about key fields of bioinformatics, computational biology, and systems biology. After finishing they will be able to perform analyses of DNA and protein sequences, protein structures and gene expression data and interpret the results in their biological context.

Content

Bioinformatics is a young discipline which combines biomedical problems with solutions from information technology, mathematics, and statistics.

Prerequisites

A BSc degree in a suitable field, such as molecular biosciences, information technology, or statistics.

English language course and Finnish not required if initial test passed.

Any amount so that 120 ECTS credits are completed.
