About me
Including undergraduate institutions, I have been working at TAMK since 1988. I was a lecturer in civil engineering for 11 years (civil engineering, structural engineering and building information technology), a development manager for more than 5 years, a manager of skills and resources for 5 years (teaching and laboratory staff and laboratories), Vice Predident (RDI, paid service activities, educational exports) and Executive Vice-President (OTO) for 5 years, 6 years as full-time Executive Vice-President (Finance, Business, Procurement, IT and General Administration), and from 2021 as Service Director. Since March 2024, I have been acting as a temporary President and CEO until a new President takes over.
My educational background is in building construction (engineering), but I've also specialized in management, information and quality management and management system.
Responsibilities
As Service Director and member of the TAMK Management Team, I have been responsible for general administration and procurement services (TAU provides joint procurement), library services (TAU), quality and information management, sports services (also provided for TAU), travel services (TAU and Certia), IT management (TAU), and facilities and real estate services (also provided for TAU).
As President and CEO (2024), I am responsible for the tasks assigned to the Board of Directors under the Universities of Applied Sciences Act, the Limited Liability Companies Act and the TAMK Management Statute, and I lead the TAMK's top management (TAMK Management Group).

Top achievements
In working life, TAMK's first joint education planning system in 1995 (in the field of technology), organisational reform in 2005, the merger of TAMK and PirAMK in 2010, as a member of the management in keeping TAMK profitable with more than 20% less basic funding (including the launch of education exports), leading the Tampere3 project and leading the Tampere Higher Education Community's common services management and quality management model.
