The course consists of two parts:
1) The HOPS (personal study plan) process (2 credits)
2) Literacy in Educational Science (1 credit)
During the HOPS process, the student becomes familiar with university studies, the study environment, the planning of studies, the processes of studying and guidance, and campus services. Questions related to expertise in the field of education and teaching, working life, and studying are dealt with in seminar groups. During the course, the student will start to build a portfolio demonstrating the development of expertise.
In the Literacy in Educational Science course, the ethical principles of research, copyrights and the practices of scientific writing are studied. The students becomes acquainted with educational scientific articles and drafts an essay.
