In this class, we will get an overview of the main methods that exist in linguistics-oriented discourse analysis. We will address Discourse Analysis and its various flavors: corpus-assisted discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, the ethnography of communication, analysis of discourse moves & genre analysis. We will also briefly look at Conversation Analysis and discursive psychology approaches.
