Environmental Conflicts and Their Resolution, 5 cr

The course gives an overview of the various concepts used to understand the role of environment in conflicts. It introduces theories of environmental conflicts and conflict resolution. The course consists also selected case studies that will enable deeper understanding of the complexities and interconnections of “human and “environment” in order to facilitate conflict resolution. The course seeks to widen the understanding of environmental conflicts and their resolution by going beyond the mainstream discourse on resource conflicts and environmental security.
