The course deals with management of research data containing personal information. The course approaches data management in a wide-ranging and practical way. The themes of the course are:

• collecting, managing and documenting data with personal information

• the secure storage of research data during an active stage of a research project

• ethical and legal aspects related to data with personal information

• anonymization of research data

• opening and re-using research data

The aim of the course is to deepen the skills needed in managing data which contain personal information. The course ensures that participants understand how important responsible data management is in their own research. Research data management is a core skill for researchers. It supports practical work, gives merit to a researcher and increases the impact of research in society.
