The student is responsible for the delivery of pedagogical activities and develops his/her professional identity as an ECEC teacher. The course contains the planning of pedagogical activities based on observation, guiding documents and evaluation. The focus is placed on the research-based development of ECEC in the multiprofessional education community and team. Attention is also paid to the student’s understanding of the ECEC teacher’s pedagogical leadership. The student's learning process is guided in cooperation with the university's guiding teacher and the mentor teacher at the day care centre. During the course, the student’s understanding of ECEC as a functional unit and part of the environment formed by the neighboring area and ECEC networks is extended and the student also increases his/her understanding of cooperation with families. During the course, the student acts according to the ethical and professional standards of an early childhood education and care teacher.
