The course strengthens the professional identity of the early childhood teacher by working in the role of an early childhood teacher. The course contains planning, implementing and evaluating pedagogical activities based on observation, guiding documents and research. During the course, the student increases his/her understanding of cooperation with families and extends his / her understanding of ECEC as a functional unit and part of the environment formed by the neighboring area and ECEC networks. In addition, the course will introduce the research-based development of early childhood education and the pedagogical leadership of the early childhood teacher in a multi-professional educational community and team. The student acts according to the ethical responsibilities of early childhood education and care teachers, reflects on his/her own practices and develops his/her professional identity in terms of theory and research. The student's learning process is guided in collaboration with the university's supervising teacher and a mentor in early childhood education.
