The module includes advanced studies specific to the field of education. The annual course offerings of the Doctoral Programme of Education and Society include a number of courses in advanced studies with a specific quota for postgraduate students.

Students without prior studies in education are required to have 20 credits of advanced studies in education completed as part of the degree. These credits can be accrued by combining some or all the 2A (Educational Research) modules.
