Core content
  • Basic principles of the image reconstruction methods in tomography imaging. This includes Radon tranformation, BP, FBP and MLEM.
  • Real world constraints in medical imaging.
  • Image quality measures and perfromance measures for PET Scanners. Standards for image formats.
  • Image coregistration for medical use, problems and image fusion techniques. Image segmentation.
  • Structural imaging versus functional imaging in the view of automatic analysis of the image sets.
Complementary knowledge
  • OSEM and noise penalization (one step late and MRP)
Specialist knowledge
  • Mathematical proofs of the reconstruction methods.
