Core content
- Configuration of simple networking features on computers running the Linux operating system
- IPv4 subnetworking, static routing, DHCP, DNS and NAT. Use of aforementioned technologies is a laboratory environment
- Implementing a ready-made network topology in practice
- Studying the network performance with standard tools in various setups. Usage of a protocol analyzer (Wireshark)
- Practice and usage of application and transport layer protocols
- Differences of TCP and UDP

- Configuration of simple networks using Cisco networking devices (switches and routers)
- Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) and Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
- Planning a network topology
