Depending on the degree program, the course includes one or more themes worth one credit point each.
THEME 1: University's IT environment (1op)
Content: The IT environment, data security and data protection at the University, general operating systems, file management, data compression, familiarization with Moodle, basic use of Office 365 and its tools supporting teamwork.
THEME 2: Tabular information processing and data visualization (1op)
Content: Basic principles of utilizing spreadsheet programs, visual formatting of data, importing data into a spreadsheet, using formulae with references and functions, Pivot tables, charts and graphs, basics of vector- and bitmap-based image processing.
TOPIC 3: Managing and publishing text-based information (1op)
Content: General principles of word processing, using styles, generating chapter and page numbering automatically, managing headers and footers of different parts of the document, creating presentations and publishing these on the web using tools such as Sway, Dropbox, Blogger, and Google Drive.
