Opintojaksolla pohditaan, millaiset tekijät ovat yhteydessä (suomen) kielen alueelliseen, sosiaaliseen ja tilanteiseen vaihteluun. Kurssilla tutustutaan suomen murteisiin ja nykypuhekielen muotoihin ja harjoitellaan puhutun kielen analyysia erityisesti fonologisten ja morfologisten ilmiöiden osalta.
