With the help of authentic text and speech samples, the student will learn how context-specific the structures of the English language are. The course focusses on the grammatical characteristics of different stylistic and geographical varieties of English. The linguistic features examined range from the structure of phrases and sentences to grammatical means of achieving various purposes in communication.
