Learning outcomes

Students who have completed advanced studies in social sciences have a comprehensive, expert knowledge of the concepts, methods and skills in their field, which form the basis for independent thinking and research. They understand the critical approach that their field typically takes to society and to the acquisition, the analysis and the production of information. They are able to contribute to social issues and to carry out creative research and development activities. They are equipped to work as social experts in both local and global contexts. They understand various human phenomena and content areas and are able to examine social phenomena from perspectives that offer new solutions. They possess diverse communication skills. They are able to independently develop their expertise. They possess the skills required for doctoral studies in social sciences.

Yhteiskuntatutkimuksen maisteriopinnot koostuvat seuraavista opinnoista:

1. Oman opintosuunnan syventävät opinnot 90 op (sisältäen pro gradu -tutkielman ja -seminaarin 40 op)

2. Vapaasti valittavat opinnot (30 op)
