The programme consists of five modules, including both bachelor's and master's degree studies. Students will be offered a lecture series every two years, lecture seminars for the subject studies at least once a semester, book exams throughout the year (electronic exam) and a research seminar for the Master's studies.
Students are familiar with the key concepts, theories and perspectives of social science research on science, knowledge and technology, and can formulate meaningful research questions based on them. Students will be familiar with current research in these fields. Students will understand the central role of science and technologies in modern society and how they are related to the students' own developing expertise. Students will learn to understand how expertise, scientific knowledge and technologies are constructed in social interaction. Students will have the practical skills to understand the potential and limits of scientific knowledge and technological systems: the ethical, social, political and sustainability issues involved.
