Description

In this programme, the student will become familiar with a wide range of research on childhood, the family and the different stages of the life course, and its current debates.

Objectives

Students will become familiar with a wide range of research on childhood, the family and different stages of the life course, and its current debates. Upon completion of the programme, the student will have mastered the main research traditions and question formulations in childhood, family and life course research, will recognise the core concepts of research and will perceive the social significance of the field of research as part of the changes and new challenges in the operating environments. Students will understand the relationships between the individual, the family and social institutions, be able to articulate the cultural, temporal and spatial differences and interactional elements of childhood and family life, and recognise agency as part of childhood and family practices.
