Laura Kananen

My research interests are comprehensive health indicators and aging biomarkers including the frailty-index, measures of the phase of the biological aging process i.e. biological age indicators (e.g., epigenetic age, telomeres), a marker of cellular and tissue damage (cell-free DNA level) and self-rated health. I am particularly interested in what each indicator represents—what they are truly reflecting, their theoretical background, and their utility in research and clinical practice.
