Olen soveltavan matematiikan apulaisprofessori ja minulla on sähkötekniikan tausta. Nykyinen tutkimukseni keskittyy puiden ja metsien 3D-rakenteen mallintamiseen laserkeilausdatasta, tällaisen mallinnuksen epävarmuuden kvantifiointiin sekä niiden sovelluksiin metsä- ja ekologisessa tutkimuksessa. Olen myös yksi Suomen Akatemian Mallintamisen ja kuvantamisen huippuyksikön 2018-2025 ja FAME – Matemaattisen mallinnuksen, havainnoinnin ja kuvantamisen lippulaivan (2024-) päätutkijoista.
