Oma esittely

Raija-Leena Punamäki, FT, KTK, on psykologi ja psykologian emerita professori Tampereen yliopistossa, tutkimusalueena traumakokemukset, mielenterveys ja kehityksellinen psykopatologia. Interventio- ja preventiotutkimus kohdistuu sotatraumoja kokeneisiin lapsiin ja nuoriin, sekä mielenterveysongelmista kärsiviin perheisiin. Erityisenä kiinnostuksenkohteena on kiintymyssuhteen ja sosiaalis-emotionaalisten ja kognitiivisten prosessien suojelevat vaikutusmekanismit. Trauma- ja mielenterveystutkimus kohdistuu varhaiseen vanhemmuuteen korkean riskin perheissä, esimerkkinä päihderiippuvuus, vanhempien masennus sekä sota- ja pakolaisuuskokemukset. Kehitystutkimuksessa analysoidaan perheiden varhaisten psykososiaalisten ja biologisten riskien vs. voimavarojen, sekä vanhemmuuden ja parisuhteen laadun yhteyttä lasten ja nuorten emotionaalis-sosiaaliseen kehitykseen. Ihmisoikeuspsykologian tutkimusaiheita ovat kidutettujen hoidon tehokkuus sekä sotatekniikan vaikutus siviiliväestöön, esimerkiksi pommien sisältämien raskasmetallien vaikutus vauvojen sensomoriseen ja emotionaaliseen kehitykseen. 

Työtehtävät

Tutkimus: (a) Traumakokemusten vaikutus lasten kehitykseen ja perheiden mielenterveyteen, erityisesti kiintymyssuhteet; (b) Varhaisten perhekokemusten yhteys lasten mielenterveyteen ja emotioonalis-sosiaaliseen kehitykseen;(c) Elämän ensimmäisen vuoden merkitys: psykologiset, sosiaaliset ja lääketieteelliset tekijät; (d) Mielenterveysongelmien ehkäisy sodan ja väkivallan olosuhteissa ja , esim. pakolaisnuorilla koulupohjaisest psykososiaaliset interventiot ja terapiat; (e) Vanhemmuus ja vauvan varhainen kehitys maahanmuuttajaperheissä: kulttuuriset, sosiaaliset ja psykofysiologiset prosessit; (f) Vauvan emotionaalisnen, sosiaalinen ja sensorimotorinen kehitystys sotaolosuhteissa, erityisesti sota-aseiden sisältävien raskasmetallien vaikutukset kehitykseen; (g) Kehtolaulujen auditiivinen analyysisi ja kehtolaulujen tunnesisällöt äiti-lapsi -suhteen osoittimina; (h) Vauvan itku: kulttuuriset ja mielenterveydelliset tekijät; (i) Terapeuttisten interventioiden vaikuttavuus huumeriippuvaisilla äideillä: mielenterveys, varhainen vuorovaikutus ja lapsen kehitys; (j) Sikiöaikaisen huumealtistuksen yhteys lapsen sosio-emotionaaliseen, kognitiiviseen ja psykofysiologiseen kehitykseen kouluiässä; (k) Nuoruusiän kiintymyssuhteen ennustajat ja seuraukset mielenterveyteen ja sosiaalisiin suhteisiin.
