Olen Satu Kajander-Unkuri (TtT, sh) ja toimin yliopistonlehtorina Tampereen yliopistossa. Tampereen yliopiston lisäksi toimin Turun yliopistossa terveyspedagogiikan dosenttina ja RENE (Research in Nursing Education) -tutkimusryhmän jäsenenä. Tutkimukseni keskittyy sairaanhoitajien osaamiseen ja siihen liittyviin tekijöihin valmistumisen ja uran alkuvuosina. Suurimmassa tutkimusprojektissani Competence of Nursing Students in Europe (COMPEUnurse) julkaisin yhdessä eurooppalaisten tutkimuskumppanieni kanssa useita tutkimusartikkeleita aiheeseen liittyen. Käynnistyvässä oleva tutkimusprojektini keskittyy Z-sukupolveen: mitkä ovat tehokkaita opetusmenetelmiä, jotka edistävät sukupolven Z terveydenhuollon opiskelijoiden kompetenssin kehittymistä ja miten sukupolven Z-työntekijöitä tulisi johtaa terveydenhuollon organisaatioissa. Olen toiminut puheenjohtajana Hoitotieteen tutkimussäätiön (HOTUS) asettamassa työryhmässä, jossa tuotimme kansallisen hoitosuosituksen aikuispotilaiden normotermian ylläpitämiseksi perioperatiivisen hoitoprosessin aikana.

Satu Kajander-Unkuri (RN, PhD) is a university lecturer at the Tampere University, Finland. She was granted the title of Docent in Health Pedagogy at the University of Turku. Satu’s research is focused on the competence of nurses and factors related to it at graduation and in early years of career. In her largest research project, Competence on nursing students in Europe (COMPEUnurse), Satu and her research partners from six European countries (Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia and Spain) have published several high-quality research articles. The current research project is focusing on Generation Z: what are the effective teaching methods enhancing competence development of Gen-Z healthcare students and how Gen-Z employees should be led in healthcare organizations to prevent early career turnover. Satu chaired the working group appointed by HOTUS to produce a national clinical guideline on maintaining normothermia in adult patients during the perioperative process.

Opetan tutkimusmenetelmäopintoja ja hoitotieteen johtamisen opintosuunnan opintoja. Ohjaan myös kandidaatintutkielmia sekä Pro gradu -tutkielmia.
