What makes Pokémon SoulSilver the best remake in the saga?

Pokémon SoulSilver and Pokémon HeartGold, reviews the story of Johto’s and Kanto’s regions. In fact, they almost follow the same story of the first versions; Silver and Gold. Like all games of this saga, the trainer has to achieve all the medals of the region and try to become the Pokémon champion. These medals are easy to achieve when you start the game, but then they’re more complicated. To win all the trainers you have to have a good Pokémon team and try to win the battle strategically, knowing about Pokémon types. In this review, we are going to focus on Soulsilver, because it is my favourite game.

We start by one of their news: “your Pokémon can follow you wherever you go”, in the game and on real life, using the PokéWalker, a gadget similar to a Tamagotchi, which allows us to continue to train our monster while you’re walking on the street. Another thing that I like about the game, is that you can get sixteen medals instead of eight, something that I miss from later generations. Besides, the story can’t be better, it has a lot of background and mini stories which you can follow enjoying and discovering new things about the game, even though you have finished the main story.

If I have to improve something, it would be the fact of being able to capture all the Pokémon in the same game to be able to complete the Pokédex, that is, avoiding that having one or another game (in this case, Heartgold) you can get one or the other Pokémon. I know it’s pure marketing, so you need to buy both games, but it still makes no sense, because they change one or two monsters. But even if I said that, I think that is the best game from “The Pokémon Company”.

As I mentioned before, the story is the best of the game, but so is the music. This one, leave a mark on you forever, because it perfectly adapts in every city, village and route of the game. It has a clean interphase and it demonstrates to us the classic melodies of the series, maintaining the traditional sounds of the franchise. We can’t forget the BSO of “Team Rocket” evils, whose music is very characteristic in every moment. Although, when we have the “Red”’s battle, one of the most memorable battles of the game, the music becomes important, because you start being more strained and in alert. Pokémon SoulSilver it’s worth playing, even though you are not inside of Pokémon world, it’s a complete game and matchless of the others from the Tsunekazu Ishihara’s company. And, if you are a fan of those monsters, you can’t miss it.

I recommend it to young people, because it will allow to introduce yourself into the saga, because you will discover lots of things. If you are from the Alpha’s Generation (those born after 2010) you can play it too, but you have to think that it’s more difficult than the new ones of the Nintendo Switch, where Pokémon became a child’s game and not for adults. We will expect for a change in the upcoming generation (Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet).
