Detroit: Become Human is the newest of Quantic Dream’s five games. The studio’s games are known for their many endings and that the choices you make can influence how the game progresses. Detroit isn’t an exception. This game creates a dystopia about the future and technology.
The game is set in Detroit in the year 2038. The main characters are androids, Connor, Kara, and Markus. The player controls each character in turn. Connor is a police investigator android who helps the city’s police in their work. Kara is a normal housekeeper android who helps a father, Todd, and his daughter, Alice, with the family’s housework. Markus is a caretaker android who belongs to an old rich artist Carl. Each character begins to act against the android’s protocol. The Game includes three good stories about the different androids.
The game has at least 100 different endings. The player can basically kill any main character anywhere and anytime. By far the predominant character is Markus, who plays a key role in advocating for android rights. That is one of the main themes in this game. Every android, main characters, and others want human rights. It depends on the player how this happens.

There’s one interesting detail in this game. I found a newspaper called Detroit Today whose pieces can be found during the game. The Paper tells news about the future Detroit which is at least interesting and some are scary things. For example, many endangered species of today are extinct and zoos have become electronic which uses holograms instead of real animals. I think this game creates a real picture of our future.
I think this game is effectively taking a stand on the current state of the world and how we ourselves can influence, for example, the progress of climate change. We have many different endings in our story, but I think we have already killed two out of three of our main characters.
As a game Detroit: Become Human is a strong successor for Quantic Dream’s previous games Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain. Other similar interactive games are Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. It is exceptional in that there are three main characters controlled by the player.
The game is infinitely good and because of the many endings it has, the replay value is huge. I still play, for example, Heavy Rain through again and again. I believe that I will play Detroit: Become Human again many and many times too.
