The City of Los Santos (L.S.) is a huge and sprawling metropolis with beautiful beaches, and various cultures, ranging from the prestigious film-making industry of Vinewood to the suburban hood life of Strawberry. Los Santos is filled with history, culture, and adventure. There are so many great places to visit and things to see, it can be hard knowing where to start. This list should help you get started and get the most from your L.S. getaway.
Pleasure Pier, Del Perro
If you are looking for a fun way to spend time, you should definitely head towards Pleasure Pier. The famous amusement park is located on the Del Perro Pier, and there are two ridable attractions: the romantic Ferris Wheel, and the terrifying Leviathan roller coaster, which both cost $10 to ride. There are also several boutiques, restaurants, and gift shops so you will easily make the time pass. Make sure to visit the amusement park when the Sun has set, for then the colorful and flashing lights of the rides, especially the Ferris Wheel, will create a more ambient atmosphere.
Diamond Casino & Resort, East Vinewood
If you are a fan of gambling stop by to play a few table games, spin the Lucky Wheel to win prizes including a chance to get the featured vehicle on the podium or shop exclusive fashion and designer artwork at the Casino Store. The main lobby is located at the entrance of the casino, so when you enter you will see the reception area, podium vehicle, the Lucky Wheel, bar, Casino Store, and many slot machines of various themes. At the back of the casino in the gambling area you can play roulette, blackjack, and Three Card Poker. Down the left hallway from the main lobby, there is the Inside Track betting area which includes a large screen displaying the horse races you can participate in. There is also a roof terrace which has a bar, and hot tubs so remember to pack your bathing suit if you want to take a dip in the water. Maybe you could book your stay at the Casino, as it is also a resort.
Vinewood Sign, Vinewood Hills
It is against the rules to book a trip to Los Santos, and not to stop to admire the iconic landmark which is located in Vinewood Hills. There are various signs posted around the Vinewood Sign saying that the area is restricted to the public, yet I have seen hikers take pictures by the sign. If you are feeling adventurous maybe you could take a hike to the Vinewood Sign during daytime and take a couple of pictures beside it – no one will notice, right? If you do not want to get in trouble, maybe it is best to admire it from afar, there are many scenic viewpoints in the city that provide great photo opportunities – if I am being honest, it does not even look that great from up close. During nighttime the sign is also lit up, so do not miss out on getting a glimpse of it then as well!
Walk of Fame, Downtown Vinewood
The Walk of Fame is located on Vinewood Boulevard, and it extends over three city blocks. There are 326 stars on the pavement tiles, – I counted them myself, you are welcome – and they feature the names of various radio personalities, cartoon characters, actors, filmmakers, musicians, and other celebrities (from different Grand Theft Auto games).
Mount Chiliad, Blaine County
If you want to escape the rush of the city, sounds of traffic and large crowds head towards Blaine County and you will see a tall mountain in the distance located in the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness. Mount Chiliad is the tallest peak in the state of San Andreas, and it serves at 796 meters above sea level. The hiking trail runs down the east side of the mountain and begins near a logging station in Pala Springs, where the dirt path leading into Paleto Forest meets Route 1. The hiking trail is a little over three kilometers long, so it depends on your pace and your form of transport how long it will take for you to get to the top and down again. The State Wilderness holds lots of wildlife such as deer and mountain lions, so keep an eye out for those on your hike. At the peak of the mountain is a small wooden observation deck where two stationary telescopes can be found (they cost $1 each per use) so you can use them to gaze at the scenery.
Usually there are two dirt bikes parked near the observation deck, so if you are feeling even more adventurous, there is a wooden ramp near the Gondola station that can be used to drive off the edge – who am I to judge your free time or holiday activities.
Hopefully this list was helpful or maybe inspired you to book a trip to Los Santos. Of course, there are many other things to do and a lot to discover, but you must begin somewhere, and these five attractions are a good way to start!
