Language Analysis 1, 5 cr

This course consists of two subunits: Grammar 1 (3 cr) and Linguistics 1 (2 cr).

The Grammar 1 subunit will explore the basic terminology of English grammar, as well as focus on defining and analysing sentence structure. The course will examine features of English grammar that are often problematic for learners, such as tense and use of articles.

The Linguistics 1 subunit will explore the basic concepts of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics, as well as their application to English through practical exercises. Reading materials covering these subjects will be provided during the course.
